A Half-Minded Half-Blog For A Half-Workday
Today you won't even get 80% (and this will be the last time I beat the 80% dead horse). This afternoon some good friends of mine will be getting married and I am fortunate enough to take a half-day off from work to attend their wedding. Don't expect to see pictures of me diving to catch the garter, however. The last time I caught one my date also caught the bouquet and never went out with me again.
Hooters Air Is Deflating
With great sadness I must admit that I will probably never fly Hooters Air. I heard the news that they are starting to cancel flights to selected cities; Scranton and Orlando have already been scratched, and Allentown, Ft. Lauderdale, Myrtle Beach, Newark, St. Petersburg join them in ten days.
And it seemed like such a well-planned business.
Here's A Great Way To Lose Customers
Yesterday I stopped by a Wolf Camera store to pick up a few items. I waited patiently for one of the two clerks to assist me, one was on the phone while the other was helping a customer out with a camera purchase. However, when the second guy left the camera peruser to answer a ringing phone, without even acknowledging my existence, I had enough. I quickly put the shit in my hand back onto the shelves and walked out.
This attitude is a symptom of a larger problem (IMHO). In retail I believe you should assist those who take the time to come to your store before those who call. In a similar vein in an office environment I think it is rude to answer a phone when someone is your office/cubicle speaking with you.
Don't even get me started on those people who answer their cell phone and leave a meeting...
Sometimes I Think Flickr Should Be Called Shitr
I visit Flickr a lot. For me it has almost become more of a social network than a photo storage site.
I am no Ansel Adams, this I will freely admit. When I post photos to Flickr, especially those I make public, I try to make sure that they meet a minimum amount of standards. I also admit that a few of my photos on Flickr are complete crap but they were put there soley for the purpose of having a place to store photos for this blog.
All I ask is that if you are going to make crappy photos public, at least name them and give a little story behind the shot.
Tour de Fox
To kick my Saturday off right I am going to go on The Atlanta Preservation Center's Fox Theatre tour which will be given by my friend Glenn. I've taken this tour before and think it's pretty neat. This time I'll have camera in tow (assuming that I am allowed to take pictures inside). You can rest assured that only the finest of the shots will make it to my Flickr account.
And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal...
Current Mood - dressed to the eights
Current Music - Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Clap Your Hands Say Yeah -- "Upon This Tidal Wave Of Young Blood"
Website Of The Day - Maybe I should jump the Flickr ship and try something new and different like BubbleShare.
If you ever want a quick glance of the sites I've picked for my Websites Of The Day, you can check them out on del.icio.us, my user name is InsideThePerimeter (go figure), and they are all tagged as "blogged."
Exercise (b)Log - nothing
Cheers!
